I am 190 pounds and I ride a 72 L board, now that being said it took me a while to get there. Most people in the beginning will be riding that size board at your weight so you’ll be able to balance easier and focus on your Wing skills. Especially later wins it’ll make it much easier. We won’t have to worry about so much balance on the board. What size front wing did you get to use with the board? That is a fine board for you. You should regress really well with it, it’s really hard to beginning as we want to second-guess everything , any help you need if you look through some stuff here just ask. Sometimes the best way to do things is to get somebody to video you when you’re learning and then we can take a look and see what you can adjust.

This was unreal riding waves up to 4 minutes, once it was windy you could really just drop in multiple spots and pump and care. Amazing place, was there mid September when it's slower. March, April, may are to many people.

Virgina Key sounds like the place for you. Has all you need and good people. Pay to get in but worth it. Enjoy

Forsure catch up with Mike at Otherside boards sports. He has a bunch of spots up there. Some dealer water to enter in around whale harbor. A lot of shallows there by the road. Give Mike a shout, he will be happy to give you an update! Have fun

One of the things I forgot to mention, really stable in the white water as well.

Also if your only going to buy 1 keep the 1200 you have and get a short fuse with another tail and buy another size front wing, either for lighter wind or stronger. Just my opinion

I would say way faster and comes up on plane very easy. Also having the option of the short fuse which I highly recommend makes turning amazing.with the 230 tail foil as well I ride in much lighter wind. Options like small fuse and also different rear foil tail make it all better and less front wings.

What a great job! It’s amazing how you described it. Minutes to miles is true for all of us, the addiction helps push you further. What was the hardest thing you dealt with when you learned?

Yeah wind season in keys is about done, more time for me to hit mainland, when monster hole is on I am there. We go to Dominican a lot.

Wow, that’s such a great journey that has so Much more ahead. Besides the feel on the waves for sure this sport gets you into shape while having a blast on the ocean. Inspiring! Looking forward to riding with you more!

During windy season Key West by white street pier aka Chicken Wing Beach is good and above there as well, its shallow so you have to walk out but you can ride in chest high water and get back.
